Yoga with Demetrios

Demetrios will be teaching us Hatha/Raja I yoga and Pranayama -- a breathing technique. If you are looking to center your mind, body and spirit, we encourage you to sign up! This yoga class will combine vigorous movement with attention to alignment and ease of breath. We will work to open up the body and raise our awareness to the consciousness of each posture, eventually bringing our embodied selves to the point of an energized body and relaxed mind.

American Music Concert

· You arrive. You register. You receive your name tag and a unique ID #. You sit in a room with other single people.
· You have up to a minute to speak about yourself to the others in the room. As you listen to others speak, you jot down the names and ID #s of the ones you may want to date.
· You interact one-on-one with as many others as possible in 30 minutes, getting to know your potential dates better.
· You hand in your card with the ID # of each person you want to date.
· At the end of the event, you find out who your matches are. You exchange phone numbers, and arrange to get together later.

Calling all you cowboys and cowgirls! Get your lasso ready and saddle up because it’s time to hit the trails of Brooklyn’s breathtaking Prospect Park! Ok, so it’s not exactly the wild, wild West, but this event is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of regular New York City life. Our one-hour guided trail ride along the bridle path in Prospect Park is open to beginners as well as those who have more experience with horses. There will be a brief orientation to the basics, and then the guided trail ride will begin. We will ride in western saddles, although English saddles are available for the more experienced. Hi-ho Silver away… or something like that!

Canstruction - Canstruct a World Without Hunger

Canstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. Competing teams, lead by architects and engineers, showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. At the close of the exhibitions all of the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks for distribution to pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, elderly and day care centers. Although we are donating cans on your behalf, feel free to clean out your cupboards and bring a can or two to help feed the hungry.
